Part 1: Terms and definitions

Part 1 summarizes terms and definitions of woody plants in greenery.

Part 2: Quality requirements for the nursery plants of ornamental trees and shrubs

Part 2 provides quality requirements for nursery stock of ornamental trees, shrubs and lianas (climbers).
The standard is intended for landscape architects, landscapers, greenery specialists of local municipalities and for nurseries and individuals, who grow nursery stock.

Part 3: Protection of trees during construction works

Part 3 gives guidance on drafting and implementation of the principles important for fitting woody plants and developmental activities. This standard provides guidance for balanced approach on deciding which trees are appropriate for retention and elimination, on the effect of trees on design considerations and on the measures of protecting these trees.
The information provided in the standard can be used both in the inventory of woody vegetation, in the preparation of plans and construction projects, and in the organization of construction and demolition works on the construction site. This standard does not provide guidance on specific design solutions.

 Part 4: Arboricultural works

Part 4 contains recommendations and guidelines to ensure the sustainability of woody plants and their communities in situ. The standard provides recommendations for the establishing of new plantings and creating a good growing medium for trees. The standard also guides planning and implementing the main tree maintenance works throughout the tree’s life cycle.
